He can’t not be older than 5, and has Turner Thorne skills and Dave Mateo style. haha okay, well not quite, but he’s remarkable for age 5. Do you guys think he’ll burn out when he gets older and not have the passion for the game since he was introduced at such a young age or do you think he’ll turn into a kendama slaying dragon that just dominates the galaxy in inventive tricks and skills?

If a Kendama video ever had the potential to go viral, this would be it. This is absolutely insane. I knew he was going to come out with something super sick and put all his skills together in a master piece. Not to mention the around the galaxy stall combo he pulls off with the Jumbo is just absolutely ballistic.

I’ve been just waiting for someone to post something epic like this. Mateo will go far.

The rarest of the rare just arrived at my door yesterday. I had to trade an epic dama to get it but I’m more than happy with the trade. I had a white mugen that I got way back in the day when they were normal priced but I didn’t know about super glueing the tip so its spike is so flat. I won’t be making that mistake again, this thing has layer upon layer of super glue and it’s ready to shred! No way this shit in staying in package, damas are to be played not put on a shelf.

Dama Art to the Next Level

Tama painting has been pretty popular for a while now, but some folks are really starting to up the game.

Sourmash from San Francisco is one of the world leaders at the moment in Tama Art. He puts an incredible amount of time and focus into each tama. Most previous artists focused solely on painting tamas but now more and more folks are channeling their focus on the art perspective versus the performance and “sticky paint” perspective.

I’m super stoked on this piece.

I love how a lot of kendama players are getting involved in other creative hobbies like music and art etc

This was definitely the most difficult competition to judge yet. These entries are awesome, there was so much skill and creativity here it’s unreal.

Jake Wiens

This edit was beautiful, entertaining, well calculated and brilliantly executed. In combination with the filming and editing and the last killer combo and the around the galaxy snatch. I was left pretty amazed.

2nd Place- Most Skill, best tricks

Chad Covington

I flip floped between this edit and Jakes for like an hour. These tricks were just nuts. It is hard for anyone no matter the skill level to match Jake Wien’s filming and editing quality, but these tricks were insane. I took that into consideration and it left me with a tough decision. Both edits had killer finishing combos. The competition boiled down to an epic battle of style and creativity versus immense skill and precision.

This edit was great all the way around. I love watching Matt play. No matter the competition, Matt always sets the bar. Matt is a beast.

This edit was cracking me up. I’ve never met Gerard, but I can tell he has tons of personality. He is definitely a dude I’d want to kick it with. Big ups. haha great edit and some killer tricks too.

Another incredibly skilled edit. Nick has gotten scary good. Clarksville is definitely holding down the fort in this comp! I really like where he disassembles the Kendama and continues to juggle sara grip. Super sick.

I’m not sure how old this kid is, but he is really good. I can’t wait til this super young generation gets to be in their twenties if they keep playing. I could only imagine if Jake and I found out about these when we were still kids…Well we are still kids, but you get my point.

Tyler just spent a few days in SF. Never a dull moment. Get an inside look at his trip and the places he rocked.

This trip was absolutely maxed out on the epic scale. Non stop partying, kendama, djing, eating the most epic food known to man. Couldn’tve had a better spring break with my blood cousin Jake and the rest of the crew.

Jake absolutely destroys the filming and editing of this film… It really makes me never want to make an edit again. haha

Huge ups to the Kengarden, Deal with It and Matt Rice, Sourmash, Greg the Strangler, and Harald from Girls n Boomboxes. It was killer seeing you all, and to everyone else I unfortunately missed in SF, UNTIL NEXT TIME! =)

This is some street sh*t. It’s sad to see, because this guy is a sick artist, but wants to dominate the galaxy and stab everyone in the back that has helped him be successful.

Holy crap! I’m so pumped on this comp. It should be really fun!

I’m purposely making the directions of this event very ambiguous and vague.

You guys have participated in my events before and you all know I’m all about creativity, entertainment, and fun!!!

So you all get to do just that!

No other rules!!!

No time limit, no point scale, disqualification or point reductions, just START and SPIKE in Sara grip per trick.

So basically, as much Sara grip as possible!!

I look at a lot of things in edits, so get creative and make yours SICK!

The Death Grip

So holy sh&t. The new paint on the new Sweets tamas is insane. They have this sand papery finish and it’s so grippy straight out of the package it should literally be illegal in like 48 / 50 states.

It’s so gritty. The only thing that’s weird about it is that when you’re juggling it, it doesn’t ‘clack’ at all. It feels really weird. But for tama grip, this ball will literally up the game so much. People are about to start landing some nasty combos. I’m stoked to see some next level tricks.

Apparently the grittiness smooths out after a bit of play to make a lustery finish. I’m about to find out though, because this is the ken I’m jammin the next couple of weeks.

I just devised a new “sticky test” and you lighthouse the ken and you see how off axis you can get it. Look how far its leaning with out coming off. I kept trying stuff like this for like an hour out of just pure amusement.
